Jan 14, 2014· Ball nose end mills by definition have zero diameter at the tip and therefore in theory must be run at infinite speed to cut at all. Can you get away with it? Try it. Wost case is, you have to buy a new ball nose end mill after plunging into stainless. You were going into stainless, right? Or was it inconel? Maybe PVC? Makes a difference.
